stray kitten bite

Post a new topicby tomrobwil on Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:52 pm

I'm concerned that when I tried to retrieve a stray kitten it bit me on the arm - enough to break the skin. Would a young kitten have rabies that I should be concerned about? I washed the area immediately and put neosporin on the area.

We have some feral cats around the property and we're trying to round them up. I mistakenly thought that I could pick one up because of how young they are.....about 7 weeks or so. So now I'm really nervous and trying not to overreact. The kitten was playing when I grabbed it up. It does not appear to be sick or anything.

Thanks, Robyn.

Hi

Go to a hospital and have a simple test done to check for Rabies. If none, then everything is fine, if found, then you got a big problem and will require Rabies shots to save your life.
