chihuahua cries while trying to make a stool movement

Pookie had been spayed thursday and today is Sunday. She started eating Saturday. Today when she tried to move her bowels she yelped out in pain. Is there such a thing as stool softener for dogs. Everthing else has been fine and she is doing well.
