FOR THOSE WHO THINK THEY HAVE RABIES AROUND

Post a new topicby Daveyo on Sun Aug 17, 2008 3:45 pm

Folks, first of all Rabies have very specific symptoms. I suggest you read the symptoms of Rabies before you all get bent out of shape.

Secondly Rabies has to have a bite or a wound on the animal. Third you have to be bitten by a Rabid animal. If you are bitten by a Rabid animal, please go to the emergency room to start the process of getting the Rabies shots and if possible try to contain and capture that animal for test proof if it has rabies or not. They (the shots) are painful, but it will save you your life. You can easily tell when an animal is Rabid. For the most part they are extremely very aggressive when approached and they will be drooling a lot and you can see the wildness in their eyes.

Rabies affect their Brains as it being the primary target of this disease. Basically it destroys it.

Also if the animal is not vaccinated against Rabies and it gets Rabies there is no cure so put that animal to sleep immediately once it is determined to have this disease.

If the animal has had prior vaccination shots and it is kept current, and the animal catches Rabies, it has a chance to be cured of this disease. Please understand this part. It has a chance to be cured if it had its vaccination shots and it is current.

I suggest to owners who keep pets outside to watch them carefully, since many animals do roam around in your area. So when they are outside you best be there with them just in case something comes around.

If your not careful someone can come around and even poison your pet without you knowing it. Most common poisons are Rat Poison which can kill the animal, and if they ingest this you must give them emergency treatment from your nearest VET.

Do not try to treat animals suspected of Rabies yourself. It has to be verified by a VET before anyone decides to put them down, even the animal warden cannot kill the pet or order such unless it is determined to have Rabies.

A vet can tell if the animal has Rabies or not by doing a CSF tap to extract some of the spinal fluid and it can be tested for verification. You do not kill this animal at all. If verified, then the animal has to die, and if it is verified that the animal does not have Rabies it lives and should be returned back to the original owner.

Now if the animal has had prior vaccination shots and it is verified to have rabies, please contact me and I will tell you what to do in curing this animal. Nothing more and nothing less, just contact me.

Hi,
I have adopted a street baby dog and has done necessary anti-rabies vaccination about 9 months back which is valid still March 2009.
However my dog a mongrel had a sudden bout of sever seizures (convulsions) which has happened twice with a gap of 15 days. After that the dog started behaving extremely strangely. He could barely move himself but started running like a mad dog. He looked extremely scary and even tried to break the door. He was showing unnatural power. He seemed to be even afraid of us. Gradually his behavior subsidized and then calm down which took upto two hour.
He vomited and even had uncontrolled stool during that period.
The next morning he was absolutely normal. Though he showed some weakness that maybe due to the self inflicted exertion. This is the second time which has happened within a gap of 12-15 days (approx.) and in between he was absolutely normal.
One additional thing.....both the time he had taken a lot amount of chicken & mutton bones which he may have resulted to stomach pains.
He goes out of house every morning to do his toilet habits and may have got in touch with other dog which have rabies as specially these is a mating season.
Please help

Hi I am Daveyo

First your dog does not have Rabies. Your dog has Canine Distemper, and it is now affecting the neuro process

Only NDV can save your dog from further progress of this disease and you have to have a CSF tap administered.

Please go to my site at http://www.caninedistemper.proboards60.com and go to the Distemper section and read up on it and then go to the medical protocol and find a qualified VET who can do the CSF tap pronto.

Everything is there for you

Contact me at my site if you need further help or here.

There is also a list where you can purchase NDV as well
