Can it be rabies?

Post a new topicby babigik on Wed May 21, 2008 10:10 pm

My cat died today night. He seemed to be alright before that. He was indoor and outdoor cat, and i never saw him fought or bitten by any animals. Yesterday he was as usual very good cat, he came home to eat, he ate, slept and around 8 p.m he went out for a walk,as he always did. At 9:45 p.m our neighbor said us he saw our ct dead at his backyard. My husband went to check, and he found a cat was almost dead, he still was warm. After 4 hours we lost him.
From the first i thought cat was hit by somebody or something, then i thought he was poisined with very strong poison. But today morning i remember about rabies. Our cat was vaccinated against rabies
And now i worry, if it could be rabies His behaviour wasn't changed before, he was acting as usual. I have a small child , and the cat bit her not long ago ( she was disturbing him, that's why), but i don't remember when. Can be rabies assiptomatic in cats? Cat was utilized this night in the hospital with no tests.
