NEVER EVER use pesticides around pets or their food! It's poison, plain and simple. If it kills something; in this case insects, then it can kill a small pet ie. a cat. I mean come on! I would never go on vacation and leave my pets to fend for themselves. And if my pet was gone and I smelled something, I surely would not wait 2 whole weeks to investigate or call someone about it. I'm sorry for your loss, however I'm angry that no common sense was used and basically the cat was poisoned and left to die. That poor cat died a horrible death.
