Re: my dogWhat to expect??? Well a dog finding out it has no balls obviously will piss him off, and then they are gentle as a kitty cat. No aggression and will purr like a kitty to you. No sex no gain no power.
How would you feel if somebody took out your ovaries or balls without your permission?????? There is all kinds of birth control available today, so why do this step to your dog?? I feel sorry for the doggie. This is worse than being put to sleep.
Re: my dogHi aflowers,
Well, we know where Daveyo stands, but there are many legitimate reasons to have your pet "fixed", and while he may be against it, his post doesn't really answer your concerns. One major reason for having him nuetered is the number of unwanted pets currently housed in shelters, kill and no-kill alike. If your dog is a rescue, often times the organization that adopted the pet out will require that it be fixed within a certain time frame. I've had several male dogs nuetered, and found that after a day of being groggy, they were pretty much back to normal. In fact, it was a little difficult keeping them calm for the 10 day period suggested by the vet in order for them to completely heal. I only had one dog that was "mad at me" after the proceedure, and I am sure it was more due to the fact that I left him at the vet's office for the day than anything else. This site does have a section on post-operative. See the link on the left under conditions/nutering. Good luck. I am sure all will be fine.
