Ringo

Post a new topicby lynn77 on Wed Aug 29, 2007 11:10 am

I am so frustrated with our cat, Ringo. He occasionally pees in places other than his litterbox. He will pull down towels in the bathroom and pee on them. He has peed on our cloth shower curtain, bath rugs, clothes left on the floor in our sons' bedroom.

I often wonder if it is his litter or a behavior problem. We have always used the pine litter and he has used it fine right along (we've had him for 2 years).

It isn't all the time either. He will go through periods were it is a daily occurrence and then it won't happen again for a couple of weeks.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Please Help!

I have one that does this. Actually a couple of them. First, have them checked by a vet, cats usually don't change bathroom habits unless there is a medical problem. could be stones or crystals in their urine. Its there way of letting you know. The other thing, is he neutered? If not-Neuter him! Can be a territory thing. One thing to remember, is once the smell is there, they will keep peeing there. Or a past pet might of peed there so now they will remark. Females will also do this too. Its more comman in a multicat household. Also, always keep on hand an enzyme spray. Good luck.
