first time owner of a preggo kitty...tips please!!!my sweet baby, Mari, was supposed to be too young to get pregnant, according to the vet. we also have an intact male who was supposed to be neutered in a month, which according to them was safe (no kittens). However, i asked the vet if i should be concerned that my older boy, Vengeance, was highly *interested* in her. she said no, because mari can't be old enough to be in heat yet, since she is supposedly only 4 months old. well, the other day i was watching tv and mari was on my lap and sprayed the blanket that was on top of me. i wasn't upset with her, just worried that something was wrong since she also has been trying to go outside every day and has been more vocal. she wasn't howling like all the books and internet articles said, so i thought she couldn't be in heat. well, later i noticed one of her nipples had a lump in it and then i started to freak. turns out 2 nipples were enlarged. i took her in this morning and the vet said she is 85% sure my baby Mari is pregnant. I didn't want to kill her babies because i don't think it's my place to decide, so now i am requesting tips from anyone experienced with the queening process. i want to give my sweet baby the best care possible. also what should i do with the dad? should i just keep them apart because i'm not giving him up either. I love them both very much.
any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
