healthy but FeLV positive

Post a new topicby placencia on Wed May 13, 2009 6:47 pm

I have a 2 yr old cat who has lived with me for a year and a half. When I got her she was tested and was FeLV and FIV negative. A week ago she peed in the living room and I noticed some blood. I took her to the vet and they diagnosed a UTI and gave her antibiotics. They also did a complete blood test and urinalysis. The urinanlysis confirmed the UTI. The bloodwork was all normal except for a pos on the Elisa for FeLV She is a strictly indoor cat since I adopted her and has no other symptoms. I am in shock because of her neg test at 4mos and her health besides the UTI. I have an 11 yr old cat who is healthy and who tested neg in the past who I am retesting today. I am struggling with separating them and with the unexpected diagnosis.
