Can The Virus Be Carried On My Clothing????

Post a new topicby lakeladyhere222 on Fri Apr 17, 2009 10:50 am

I am a Personal Nanny of 2 children, they feed and play with 5 stray cats outside of their country. There is a cat that I believe has FLV, a sweet but sickly cat. It will rub againt my pant legs and I am afraid of transporting the FLV or any diseases home to my own cats that are well carried for, healthy, indoor cats. What can I do to protect my own pets? thank You, Barbara

Barbara, as far as I know the virus does not live long outside of the cat's body. Your cats should be fine but I would recommend asking your vet to make sure. Rose

Dear Rose, thank you so much, you have eased my mind..... however, can't believe that I overlooked the obvious, ask my vet... well we have just lived through some stressful times here in Tx., terrible fires and 2 tornado moving over our small country town, just was not thinking clearly. Thank you again, Barbara
