I love the fact you chose that cat. I am looking at getting a cat right now, and I may get two. One that I have my heart set on has FIV and FeLV, which doesn't bother me. My last cat has FIV and lived to be 17! Also- for the person whose cat tested positive, test them again. I rescued a cat that tested positive (after we had given him to an owner) on the first test and then on the second tested negative. The owner was actually going to put him down (so I was going to take him back, even though I had another cat) and on a whim, to make sure, she tested him again at the vet!

Wow! You are truly an angel!!! God Bless you and your family for giving this kitty a home. I love cats, I have a cat rescue organization in Miami, Fl. and you have no idea how many people will turn their heads at the sound of FIV or FeLV. On top of that, people are so afraid to contact any disease from cats, what they don't know is that just by holding a doorknob they could get more germs than what cats can give them.
You are really amazing especially because you have a baby at home and many people won't adopt a cat with FeLV thinking that it could be passed to the baby.

Again, God Bless you all,

I think you are a wonderful person. I was just wondering if your cat is still alive and active. My cat was diagnosed almost 3 years ago. He was on his death bed, but I was able to bring him back. He was perfectly healthy until 2 weeks ago. I had blood work done, and was given the awful news that his red and white blood cell count is down. He is lethargic, but still eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. Albeit, I need to feed him Pedialyte, give his food to him, and put him in the litter box. But, now I am realizing it's the end. I was just wondering if you are doing well with yours.
