My cat Max is about a year old, and I got him when he was approximately 2 months. He and his brother were found together without their mother in a friend's apartment building. His brother was adopted by another couple a few days after I took Max home. I recently heard from them the sad news that they had to put their cat down because he was suffering from FIP
I'm really worried that Max picked up the same infection when they were newborns, maybe from the mother. He's eating well and continues to be active first thing in the morning and late at night, though he sleeps all day. I don't want to upset the other couple for asking about the details of their kitty's illness, but can anyone tell me what symptoms to look out for especially--and whether he's especially at risk because his brother had it? He's had all his vaccinations and is an indoor cat.
