My kitten..

We just went to the vet not too long ago because my kitten’s left eye was getting blurry and she threw up that morning. I was expecting for her just to say she had allergies and maybe we’re feeding her too much. As soon as the vet saw my kitten she said this was very bad. That she might have one of two diseases.
Either leukemia or Feline infectious Peritonitis (FIP). So the vet did a blood test and drew some blood to test for leukemia. She came back fifteen minutes and said for...Read the full article

I know exactly what you are going through. I recently adopted my beautiful baby kitten, Bella three weeks ago (she was at that point 7 weeks). Saturday morning I went down stairs to find two piles on the floor which looked like hairballs. I thought noting of it. My husband and I ran out to Pet Smart (where we adopted her) to pick up hairball treatment. When we returned she was walking real stiff. I thought maybe she had fallen. As the night progressed she threw up several more times. My husband laid with her all night. Saturday morning came around and she couldn't even get up. She couldn't stand. I thought maybe by this point she was dehydrated because of the vomiting and she was just weak. I picked her itty bitty head up and helped her drink her water. I noticed her eyes looked weird also. We took her to the Vet. Hospital. While the Dr. was examining her her felt something around her intestines. He describle it feeling like ribbon. He said at that point all the sign pointed to her have eating a foreign object. The only way they would know was to open her up. (The x-ray would not show in the abdomen). He also took her temperature and it was around 94 degrees. He called up at about 11 o'clock. And said he had never seen a kittens anatomy like this before. Everything was enlarged and filled with fluid. Her kidneys, liver, gall bladder, everything. He said there was nothing more they could do. Her temp. continued to drop. He said it is now pointing to FIP and she probably got it from her mother. He never reccomends putting any animal down but we had no choice she was going to die in several hours. All I keep thinking about is how she was just lying there lifeless and that is the last time I will have ever seen her. I am heartbroken. I have not stopped crying since this has happened. I wish this could have been detected sooner. I fell in love with her, and I fell as if though I lost a child. I keep asking myself, how it is possible to love something so much after only three weeks but I do. It is not fair. I wish this could have been prevented or there was a cure.
