My 9 year old blue Himmy Felix has come down with FIP recently. He was always a fragile male but a healthy one. I have 4 other ones in my house. All of them are either persian or himmy. Hello my name is Maria and I lost my little boy Rocky on Wednesday (19/09/07) he was diagnosed with dry FIP in 2005 and he was put on steroids and more recently a new drug for cats suffering with FIP called interferon, when he was on the interferon he seemed to pick up in spirit and he wanted to play more and eat more he seemed "normal" again. So I think it's well worth you asking your vet about this drug as I believe that if Rocky had, had it sooner than he would have had a longer life as the drug slows the onset of FIP and it was only introduced to my baby a few weeks before he passed.
My advice to you is to love, cherish and enjoy your babies while you have them. I am absolutely heartbroken about losing my baby, you have my deepest sympathy.

I just put down my beautiful one year old Cap, tonight. He had dry FIP, we have another cat whose FIP status in unknown at the moment but appears healthy. The cats were not litter mates but came from the same shelter. My heart is broken and I know how you feel. He had such a wonderful personality before he became ill. I hope time will heal us both.
