I rescued a cat that had serious congestion, sneezing and could not breath thru her nose. Oral meds could not go down because she was so congested . After 4 weeks of nursing care, we reached a breathing state!! Here's how we did it:

10-12 hour vaporizer treatment in the bathroom clean towels, a bit of vicks or spirit of camphor in the steam, NOT MUCH! dry towels to soak up the mist on the floor with a bright warm lamp in the bathroom. no dusty litter, used pine pellets, clean water very 6 hours,..

She got GENTOCIN inhections every other day. for about 10 days. ....17.90 each. the cephalexin liquid started to work before that but she threw up due to so much flem in her nose and stomach. We had her doing well, but the cephlexin ran out so we went to one GENTOCIN shot every other day...
In order to get her to eat when the flem finally broke up enough fo her to breath they gave up
PERIACTIN, an antihistiamine eating stimulant that you rub inside the ear.. this causes her to eat and some decogest. WE gave her pure gerber baby turkey and chicken on a flat saucer and she lapped it up.. it was a grueling 4 weeks of nursing care. She also go NORMOSOL fluid injected under her skin because she was dehydrated when her nose was plugged. I had to stay up and wipe snots from her nose when she finally started to sneeze which cleared her nose some. she now still has some discharge and sneezies if there is any dust, perfume, sparya cleaner, vaccuuming or any scented stuff in the air. we are very careful and clean.. I ran out of money, nest pay day she goes back to see if ZITHROMAX oral is the next antibiotic she will need. she got diarrhea, so we had to add some plain yogurt to her wet food. we toosssed wet food in with kitten chow becuase too weet of food she gets in her poor nose and she started to gag and snzzeeeze again.
