FIV and Stomotitis

Post a new topicby Kallie on Tue Apr 15, 2008 4:30 pm

My cat has been diagnosed with FIV 4 yrs ago and started getting mouth sores..stomatitis in his mouth..it was controlled with steroid inj about 1 yr now he is getting them about every 2 weeks..i was told that removing a cats teeth can help with the stomatitis....does any one know if removing the teeth can help if the cat is FIV or would it be a major , unnecessary surgery to put this poor cat through?
