I have 2 cats, a male (Scruffy) & female (Kamakazi Kitty). Yesterday i took them in to get them fixed. I was told that they’d be tested for FIV and if they were + they would be put down. I replied, ” why, i wasnt put down when i was diagnosed with HIV.”
Well less than 2 hours ago i got THE CALL, and what did i want to do? the 1st thing i did was cry…alot. After much soul searching & praying, I made the decision to bring them both home.

Your story should be sent to all vets who believe that cats with FIV should be put down immediately. Like you said, no one tried to put you down because of your condition, so why would you do it to an otherwise healthy cat? They may only be with us for a short time or they may be with us for decades...who knows..but those years will be the happiest they could possibly be for human and feline alike.
