Feline Herpesvirus

Hi,
I am moving to Texas from Missouri in 2 weeks and have 2 cats. My youngest, Rudy, is 19 months old and gets stressed. When he was younger and my daughter moved out of the house he had a severe outbreak of FHV and needed medical attention. This time, not only are we moving but I will have to place him in the home of a friend for about a month while we find an apartment. We will be staying in a timeshare during that time and they do not allow pets. I have heard that there are supplements that can help reduce the chance of an outbreak by eliminating the immune systems response to stress. Does anyone have any advice on which ones work based on their experience? Any suggestions are appreciated.

My vet recommended and I use 500 mg of lysine per day ground into "Stella's" wet food. Seems to lessen the outbreaks but sounds like poor Rudy will be stressed by your move. I wish you much luck.
