herpesvirus and locked jaw

Post a new topicby babytaz on Fri Feb 08, 2008 7:07 pm

About 1 1/2 yr. ago my cat got the herpesvirus and was very ill. About a year ago, she was going blind. We took her to a opthamologist. This specialist said there was nothing wrong with her eyes, so she recommend a neurologist. This one could not help and put the cat on prednisone. The sight came back. Since 8 month ago, the cat can't breath and snores all the time. The vet tried all kinds of antibiotics and nothing seems to help. They are running out of options and antibiotics and since Monday, she is suffering from jaw-lock. Because she can't breath, she sleeps with her mouth open and when she wakes up, her jaw is locked. With a little massage, the jaw closes again. She is also very dehydrated and I don't know how to make her drink more water. She works so hard to get air in her lungs. Does anybody out there who can give me advice, don't know what to do anymore.
