I own six cats I have adopted over time. My one cat I had the longest was sick back in 2005 and I tool her to the ER when she seemed like she was chocking. They kept her for three days and then decided it was allergies. I was told to give her allergy pills when she acted up showing symptoms. She was fine for a yr. The she stated up again. I had another cat at the time and he was not affected so the DR said it had to be allergies. She seemed to have two attacks a yr and the pills seemed to work..

I just rescued a few cats over the four yrs and they all checked out at the vets as in good health. They were never vaccinated for FHV..Just two weeks ago the same cat started up with her sneezing and I gave her, her pills. But this time they didn't seem to be working. I got worried and took her to the Vet. He gave her a week of Prednisone and an antibiotic. The on the third day another one of my cats started to sneeze. Then one after another. They all got it so bad they had attacks sneezing and their eyes were watering..By the end of thee week I had to get meds for them all. They are all eating and drinking and I wash their noses and faces with warm water each time I give them their meds and I keep an eye on them .This is the fourth day of meds and only 4 out of the six seem to be getting a lot better. But the other two are slower. The Dr told me as soon as they are all better to get then vaccinated for FHV. I think that my cat I had the longest must be the carrier. Has anyone had this happen with one cat that is the carrier and all at once for some reason it spread even thought some have been together for over 3yrs?
