sick cat - vet puzzled

Post a new topicby Bonnie L on Fri Dec 07, 2007 12:15 am

New here. One of my cats - 4 year old neutered male - got sick on Sunday (he may have been sickening before this, but with 8 cats I don't always notice things.) Anyway, he was yowling occasionally, vomiting mucusy liquid, no food, didn't want to eat or drink, very lethargic. Same on Monday but not vomiting. Took him to vet Tuesday, but she couldn't figure out what his problem was. Blood work was normal, no fever. That night he drank a little water & slept a lot. Used litter box once. The next day - just slept. Today - Thursday - he drank some water, used the litter box, walked around some & wanted to be petted. Purred for the first time this week. Was able to jump up in a chair to sleep instead of sleeping under the chair.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm willing to take him back to the vet if there's a chance for him, but if he's dying, he seems comfortable enough. He hasn't acted as if he's in pain since Sunday.

Thanks & God bless,
Bonnie
