WE have some stray cats that come and go at our house. WE live out in the country. Some I can get close to other I can't. We've opened up our garage for them to come stay at night to get out of the cold. We put in a kitty door for them to use. And give them food and water. One cat that I call Bernie was acting strange the last two days. Very quiet and he's usually pretty vocal was sleeping alot and I don't believe he had been eating. He would always venture out for the day and sometimes would return at night to sleep. This morning he was laying there breathing really hard but wasn't real responsive to my voice. He had no signs of any injury. He didn't have any discharge coming from his eyes, ears, nose or mouth. My husband came home during lunch and found him dead. We also noticed a couple weeks ago that he had a spot of hair missing from his side it must have been from a cat fight but there was no blood. Any ideas what he could of died from? FeLV? Poisioned? I'm concerened if it's something that can be spread to some of the other cats.
