new here with dog with same conditionI have a 3yr old rott/lab(59.lb) and he has it in both legs, one worse than the other, i am favoring the alternative method to surgery, he being so young, he is on pain med's now and in the house so no lose dogs or large trucks will cause him to ruin it more. I am taking this method first and left a message for my vet in regards to casting him on one leg, i think him being young might be the method for now, but surgery or not neither will last once the activity level continues even a year after wards im afraid, im all for this calmer method and when it becomes too bad even where med's won't help then he will put to sleep.

Man you should be totally ashamed of yourself. What if your son tore ligaments on both of his knees and you decide to cast him up on one leg and if he cannot go any further then put your son to sleep. If you cannot give this dog any good proper treatment bring him to a good home to someone who can take care of him and give him a decent chance to walk again with some surgery to repair those rubber bands so he can at least walk around and be a loyal member to someone's family. A person like you with an attitude to put that dog to sleep because of an injury is the pit. I am not sorry for telling you this straight up to your face. Either get the dog the proper treatment or give him to a good home who can take care of him. Daveyo. Wait till the others see this post you made wow.
