Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture

I was told they do not even wrap the tear in the CCL - is that the case?
I am no medical expert - but how do you keep a 1 yr old pup from being active?
As someone else said in this forum..its going to be a long 6-8 weeks.
Do I have surgery and correct or use the wait and see approach?
