ccl in both back legs desperately seeking advise

Post a new topicby janetcauble on Sat May 30, 2009 12:28 pm

Our beloved 7 yr old rottweiler received a ccl injury to her left hind leg 7 months ago. My vet told us it was a very costly surgery approx. $3000 and they couldn't guarantee it would fix the problem. We simply don't have the money so the vet gave us an option to keep her contained in a smaller area, limit activity and provide joint medication. That has worked wonderfully until my youngest daughter accidentally left our front gate open and off the dog went while we were inside the house. She was found a block away and unable to walk. Now as a result the other hind leg has suffered the same ccl injury and she can no longer walk or stand. Our children are completely heart-broken at the prospect of "losing" their beloved pet. I am a stay at home mom and have the capability of providing an unlimited amount of care and or rehabilitation. I am seeking advise from anyone who has any information that can help us. Our dog is family and we love her dearly. thank you.

Hi Janet

I am Daveyo, and I can provide you good assistance to get your dog treated and have it walking again. Please go to my site at caninedistemper dot proboards dot com

There is a microsurgery treatment and a new treatment using stem cells which fixes that problem and I have the contacts all set up.

Get over there and register, and I will help direct you there and get you taken care of.

Tell the kids all will be fine as you have an expert on hand to work with you.

In the meantime use elastic wrapping on both rear legs to minimize any further tear of the ligaments. OK, and alternate some hours on and off with it to ensure good blood flow until the dog gets it's treatment. The treatment I know of now is very successful.
