hi , our 5 yr old westie has had crucial lig repair by the suture method,after about 3 weeks we noticed it didn,t seem right . we brought him back to the vet ,and the suture had loosened up,so he repaired it again.he has told us to take him for some walks about 10 days after ,to get him to use his leg,but by reading some posts on here i feel it is going to take some time for him to heal and use his leg,its been 3 weeks since 2 nd surgery and we dont feel he is using his leg to much ,is this norm...Read the full article

Do not walk that dog around too much. It takes about 8 weeks before strong enough to move about. At that point of time then you can walk it little by little so it can get the muscles going again. It is way too soon at 3 weeks

Be careful or you will re-tear that surgical fix again
