post-spay incision 15 days post-opI just removed the one external stitch my dog had after 14 days post-spay. Her scar looked "perfect". The following day, I felt what I thought was scar tissue so I rubbed some vitamin E and collagen cream on it. Now I notice her incision looks raised, red, and maybe a couple tiny blisters beside it. What have I done? What can I do to help it now? Thanks for any advice.
Re: post-spay incision 15 days post-opThis sounds like suture rejection. She is probably allergic to the internal catgut sutures. My dog had this and it takes a long time to heal. If the incision breaks open a trip back to the vet will be needed.

Re: Re: post-spay incision 15 days post-opThanks for your reply. I did end up taking "Zoe" to the vet as her incision seemed to start oozing some pink tinted blister water. The vet gave her an antibiotic and said she had probably got to licking the incision and irritated things. I just didn't want her to get a massive infection with the holiday weekend and all!
