Marley

My husky mix dog opted to spend his summer outside. Now that it´s getting colder he wants to come in. He has been coughing quite a lot in the last week or so. Do you have any ideas what might be wrong?
I have two dogs, and young children, and I was wondering if I should treat the dogs or something before letting them come in all the time and sleep with the kids. My friend says they have parasites. Is this true? If so, what should I do? Comments?

Marley probably just isn't used to the cold, and he wants to come inside where the temperature is more what he's used to. Huskies are cold climate dogs though, so it won't hurt him to be outside. I would probably let him sleep in the washroom at night. Something like that. If you're concerned about parasites, your vet can run a blood test that will only take about ten minutes to get results. Most parasite infections can be treated easily, but can be very dangerous if you let it go. Personally, I would have it checked out. If it's too cold outside, let him sleep in the washroom, or put a towel down in the bathroom and use a baby gate. Since you have young children, I imagine you probably have one somewhere you can use. He doesn't necessarily need to be in bed with the children just to be inside.
