We purchased a 9.5 month old German Shepherd from the Lancing MI area about 3 weeks ago. when we got her, she was a bit on the thin side, weighing in at about 61 lbs. we were told that she had been with a family who was going through a divorce and had been living on a farm, so she had free roam of over 20 acres. The person we got her from said she had only received her first puppy shots, and her rabies vaccine...no other vaccines we ever given.

When we picked her up she had a discharge from her eye, and was scratching all over. The first couple of nights she seemed to have some usually rapid respirations. We took her to our vet, and was told she was a little thin, but otherwise, "is generally in good health." We changed her food to the "wellness" brand for skin problems...the scratching has decreased and she put on weight; however, now there bigger problems...

In the last day or two, our pup seems to not be drinking or eating anything...she might occasionally sniff at the bowl, but will turn and walk away to go lay down and go back to sleep. She seems to be somewhat lethargic, only moving when she absolutely has to. She does not seem to be bloated nor is there any other gastro type sx. I am concerned because of the sudden change in her behavior and lack of appetite and not wanting to drink. I do not know if she is havng anxiety issues because of another change in household routine...with school starting back and such, or if this is something more along the lines of distemper I have had other dogs, but this is the first German Shepherd I have ever owned...?

Hi tharrod

Please give me the latest update status on your dog. Is your dog having any discharge from the nose, hardening of the pads and possible other sympthoms that you can see physically???
