This is the continuing story from My New Puppy Might Have Distemper I spoke with my vet this morning and he said she was doing better, eating more, more active and her eyes are wider. The test he ran was not the bladder smear although he said he would try to run that today before I pick her up this afternoon, and a conjunctiva smear. He told me all these tests could have false positives or false negatives but that doing more than one will be more likely to give us a definitive answer.

The good thing is that he seemed very open to looking at new options and is willing to work with this. When I told him about the off label use of the Castleman's vaccine he said he is very interested if there is a possible cure out there for Distemper I believe he will try it if it comes to that. I printed out some of the information you've given others in this forum and told him I'll give it to him to keep in the file.

Please give me a way to reach you (e-mail, phone number, or something) so that this vet can work with you on this. Even if it turns out that my dog does not have distemper this is information my vet would like to have to help dogs in his practice. Since time is crucial this information should be widely distributed to as many vets as possible as soon as possible.
