i think my pup has it idk please helpOk I think the best way to explain is to give the whole story. I got a chiuahah from a friend of the family as a puppy. Was told she had her shots and was wormed. She had puppies when she was about 1 year old. Which we sold. So this march we went on a trip to the countryside and when we got back we noticed that she had a cough. Took her to the vet and was told she might have kennel cough. There were lots of dogs where we were so he thought since shes had her shots thats what it could be. Well about 3 weeks later...shes not herself at all. Not playing, not wanting to go out with us nothing. Then she started i guess doing the chewing gum seizures and 2 days later passed away. So now we have recently got one of her puppies back because they just couldnt take care of her. I noticed that she had deformed teeth and she has a cough. Not nearly as bad as her mothers but the same type of cough. I had her shots given to her when we got her back. If she has distemper will the vaccine help her or hurt her? And what can i do to help it from getting worse?
Re: i think my pup has it idk please helpHi I am Daveyo
Gonna lay the cards on the table here for you. Your first case of the dog having seizures, your friend lied to you. If it had its shots, it never would have reached ODE stage which is what happened. Any time a dog has distemper disease vaccination shots are useless and quite dangerous to say the least. This first dog was a survivor of Distemper and you never knew it. Regarding your returned dog, the deformed teeth is the secondary characteristics of the distemper disease. What your getting is a warning that the ODE is coming soon enough. You need to get NDV immediately. Newcastles Disease Virus Vaccine of the La Sorta strain. It also comes with a clear diluent. NDV is freezed dried. You need to weigh this dog and record it. The prescription is 0.1cc for every pound or 0.45kg. If between weights, add another 0.1cc. Take the syringe and (example> the dog weighs 3 pounds, you need 0.3cc of NDV +0.1cc if past 3 lbs.) , and withdraw 0.4cc of the diluent into the syringe, and then put inside the NDV vial. Mix it a bit and withdraw out all the contents back into same syringe. Then go to the dog and make sure the front leg is shaved a bit and find the blood vein. When you see the vein insert this needle and pull the plunger back a bit to make sure you see blood going into this syringe. If you do then inject all in that syringe into the dog. Done, and sterilize the puncture wound. This will take care of the virus in the body part because NDV will not breach the blood brain barrier. Cure is 12-24 hours. Next you need to have a VET to do the CSF tap at the foramen Magnum (the bottom base part of the skull in the back of the head) of which the VET has to do this tap to the cerebral cranial cavity area. Your dog is considered a toy dog. What the vet has to do first is start the I.V. fluids, and then give that dog some antishock meds, and then anesthesia to get it sleeping to not move at all. Then shave the back part of the head area. Then this VET needs to have 2 syringes, the NDV vial and diluent, and saline solution and a cather. This vet takes 0.1cc or (0.2cc which I recommend since this dog is at late stages here) and have this NDV ready inside the vial. The vet also needs 0.1cc of Saline. Now this vet does the tap and takes out 0.3cc of spinal fluid. Remove 0.2cc into another vial and save for lab testing. Leave 0.1cc of spinal fluid in same syringe, then take the NDV vial and take out all into this syringe 0.1cc. Mix it a bit and make sure all air is out of syringe and needle. Then put back to the CSF tap area and inject back to the spine. Then take the saline and inject that 0.1cc and then clear area out and sterilize the puncture wound. Procedure is done. Cure of this virus and disease is 24 hours in the CNS and stops any further progression of this disease and kills the virus. This also stops the ODE if the dog has not had it yet. Let the dog wake up on its own, and stands up until tail begins to wag or bark etc. Then you can take this dog home. The extra vial of spinal tap fluid your VET can send to Antec Labs for specific Distemper antibody check. If present this confirms your dog is and was infected. Your dog also has PNEUMONIA caused by this virus. the Dx is 0.5cc of Baytril and 1.0cc of Penicillin G twice a day for 7 days. After this the Pneumonia should be cured. Distemper always has and brings on Pneumonia. Full 100%. NDV precludes any need for further Distemper Vaccine. This means you do not have to give anymore Distemper Vaccine to this dog for life. Titers will be around 1/1600. As to the rest of the vaccinations DO NOT GIVE THIS DOG ANY MODIFIED LIVE VACCINES OF ANY KIND. Only KILLED VIRUS. last do not give any of the killed Parvo vaccine to this dog until 1 year has elapsed after this CSF tap. Parvo opens the blood brain barrier and can cause complications to animals. Do not for any animal combine Distempr and Parvo together. A very dangerous combo and many vaccine makers are aware of this problem but they ignore this warning and know the consequences of such. When you give your dogs vaccines give your toy dog 1/2 dose and not the full dose. Spread this apart 21 days. Then give the last 1/2 dose. Parvo same but must be 1 month apart. After this you need not have to vaccinate your dog again for 3 years. Understand. Its every 3 years. You can find NDV at any agricultural poultry store in your area. Farmers that raise chickens know where to get this vaccine. It is not expensive but rather cheap. Under no circumstances do you vaccinate a sick dog at any time. Keep this in mind and the dog must be healthy. You have to do both of these procedures very soon, because those seizures is just around the corner. The dog can survive even in seizures stage but you will need to give it Phenobarbital for long term to allow the seizure brain damage to heal. How long depends on the dogs genetics and how much damage the virus caused. You can find a wealth of information at my web site at [moderator note: website address has been removed] and register yourself in. Then go to the Canine Distemper area and here you will find all the information you want to know about, the prescription that I told you about, Pics of this virus and also testimonials of dogs saved including my story as well. Dr. Sears is the one who discovered the cure for the body, and I am the one who discovered the cure for the CNS system and figured it out. Dr. Sears also made a serum which is even better and can be used more than once for any diseases. NDV can only be used once per dog per body and per CNS. After that no more for life. Right now our tally has reached over 700 dogs saved to date. Pure medical procedure that works. Contact me either of both place here and at my site if you have any questions. Daveyo.
