Distemper and Neighbors Dog

Post a new topicby glad on Thu Jul 03, 2008 12:55 am

I have 2 dogs a year and a half old with all of their vaccinations. My neighbor just told me that her pup has distemper I pet the pup and then went home and pet my dogs. Can this transmit the disease? Also if her pup has been in her car and then if I go in the car and it transfer to me? How hardy is the virus? Thanks

As long as your dogs are fully vaccinated your OK. Also if you already got your measles shot when you were young your also OK. If not, yes Distemper can affect you if you as a human being has not been vaccinated.

As to your neighbor, please have her contact me immediately since there is a full cure for her animal against the disease. Together Dr. Sears and I have worked hard and he has saved over 600 dogs whereas I came up with the cure in the neuro portion which is the Central Nervous systems of the dogs. The cure rate is full now 100%.

She need to contact me and fill me in on the details, the age of the dog, how long she estimates the dog had the disease, any vaccinations, and the symptoms of the dog, like soupy stools, hardening of the pads, nasal discharge from the nose, goop in the eyes, any heavy labor breathing, and temp readings, any blood test for the WBC (white blood cell count) and type of dog and breed and its weight current when your neighbor writes to me.

From there I can tell her what to do and how to cure her dog. Very important.

From onset of the disease, to imminent death without our treatment the dog will die in about 5 weeks.

With our treatment, the dog is cured in the body in 24 hours and is immuned for life. Also if the dog is past day 6 of the disease onset, the cure for the CNS is 24 hours and that is immuned for life against distemper.

It is absolutely essential to contact me as quickly as possible.

As to the virus yes it is an airborne and contact type disease and extremely very deadly to unvaccinated dogs.. Make sure that dog is kept confined and not around any other dogs not vaccinated. Do not have her pet other dogs or expose herself until this disease is cured and contained. It takes sunlight, and bleach and 30 days to get rid of the virus completely from her entire household.

She is also not to vaccinate this dog while it is sick. Never do that or get the dog wet at this current time and stage of Distemper. If she bathes the dog she will accellerate the pneumonia on the dog and it can kill easily.

Pneumonia and Distemper always are together. To treat for pneumonia, she will need Baytril and Penicillin G for 7 days twice a day every 12 hours. She does this after she gets the dog injected with the NDV in the body first. Yes Newcastles Disease virus Vaccine is the cure that wipes out this disease.

Let me know once you make contact to your neighbor and inform them.

Daveyo-thanks for the quick response - in the interest of time and efficiency here is what she says:
Sophie is 3 months old. We adopted her on June 21, 2008 from the local shelter. On June 20, she was spayed and given the DHLPP and Bordetella by the shelter vet. Her symptoms began on June 22 with a runny nose. By the 24th she was making a gagging cough and running a fever. The vet check showed her temp at 103.3 and she was treated for kennel cough with a shot of Polyflex and put on Clavamox tablets (125mg). She appeared to be on the rebound and began to finally play and be a puppy, but then her runny nose became worse and worse. The vet recheck on 6/30 showed her temp at 102.2 and her weight was 17 lbs. Clavamox was renewed. We brought her back the next day and her temp was up to 103.1. She has no appetite, her breathing is labored due to the fact that she is trying to breath through her nose which is slightly blocked. (We clean it regularly). There is no goop in the eyes, no signs of diarrhea or hardening of the pads. She drinks water and likes to put all 4 feet in the bowl and even sit in it due to the extreme heat we are experiencing. We keep her in the house as much as possible, only to let her out so that she can relieve herself. I also have seen no signs of nuero twitching.
Thank you,
Grace

Sounds like very early stages of Distemper being caused by the Vaccine shot which is the reaction. Yet the fevers don't match up. Tell this woman to do this specific test by either a medical lab or by a VET that has the equipment which is not much. She can find out the answer in 30 minutes. The fevers are closely related to Respiratory herpes, and not kennel cough. Again another misdiagnosis by a VET.

Right now I would say it is border line if it is Distemper before it enters the CNS.

Here is the test and have her do it ASAP and don't waste any time on it. Get this test done now.

The very best test for rapidly diagnosing ACUTE distemper is to do what is called a brush border smear of the cells of the inside lining of the bladder. These cells ALWAYS have inclusions. So, easy to collect, easy to stain (quick dip) and instantly diagnosed with inclusions in these cells which are carmine red and para nuclear.

Any medical person can tell you how to get cells from the bladder. Urinary catheter. Empty bladder flush with saline and collect some of the last saline. Spin down the saline and remove the cells. Place on slide and dry stain with diff-quick. Very common stain used by most medics or lab people who use medical microscopy. Everyone? I should hope so. Very fast, very cheap, very accurate for Dx of distemper. If present then Distemper. If negative then either kennel cough or respiratory Herpes or Toxoplasmosis.

This test is extremely very accurate. What the person will see here is the actual virus cells and not antibodies.

Also get a blood test full test done. I want to know all of it especially the WBC as quick as she can.

Report back here and forget the holiday for now, that dog needs immediate attention.

If it is Distemper by this specific test, then she needs to find some NDV which is Newcastles Disease Virus Vaccine. For the body she will need 1.8cc of the vaccine. This same vaccine also cures Respiratory Herpes and k
Kennel Cough, but for those two I prefer using the Serum which is best for those two diseases, and will use NDV only if needed, but once she uses it, she cannot use it again in the future should the dog experience any of these three diseases. Only one time on the body for the dog, and only one time for the CNS on the same dog. So that is why I want the test done. If it is Respiratory Herpes then use Baytril and Penicillin G to stop it. The antibiotics will take time to cure this dog, but that vaccine will cure that dog in 24 hours.
