Yes I can help

First give me the data on the dog. Age, weight, any vaccination shots, how is the stools, how are the eyes, check the paws, check the breathing, and check the nose. Take a temperature check to see if it goes over 102.5 deg or higher. If you see it above that number then its Distemper

Also where are you located.

To be sure you need to find a medical person to perform a quick test. This is the test that needs to be done and you can have a verification in less than 30 minutes.

The very best test for rapidly diagnosing ACUTE distemper is to do what is called a brush border smear of the cells of the inside lining of the bladder. These cells ALWAYS have inclusions. So, easy to collect, easy to stain (quick dip) and instantly diagnosed with inclusions in these cells which are carmine red and para nuclear.

Any medical person can tell you how to get cells from the bladder. Urinary catheter. Empty bladder flush with saline and collect some of the last saline. Spin down the saline and remove the cells. Place on slide and dry stain with diff-quick. Very common stain used by most medics or lab people who use medical microscopy. Everyone? I should hope so. Very fast, very cheap, very accurate for Dx of distemper. If present then Distemper If negative then either kennel cough or respiratory Herpes or Toxoplasmosis.

Also how long has this been going on and when did you first notice the symptoms. The above is basically very easy to do test wise and its extremely very accurate. You will not see antibodies here but will see the virus if it is in the body of the animal.

Next you need to find NDV of the La Sorta Strain, from any agriculture poultry store. If none around you have options, chicken farmers know where to get the vaccine, also you can call the agriculture department and they can tell you where the source of the vaccine will be at, but don't tell them you are using it for your dog or you will have a ton of questions to answer. Just tell them you need it for your chickens. OK

Now based on the weight of that dog, then you need to have this amount Dx as follows. 0.1cc of NDV for every pound or 0.45kg. Understand. If between the weights add another 0.1cc. Then get a syringe and a needle, from any pharmacy. The NDV will come in a freeze dried form and a clear sterile solution. Make sure you keep it cold until you use it. Then once you know the amount based on the weight of the animal draw out the amount from the solution bottle, and then put into the NDV and shake it a bit, then draw out this fluid and make sure no air is in it.

You do have an option to first draw out some blood to check the WBC count. This can only be tested at a lab.

Then go to the dog, shave the front leg a portion of it to find the blood vein. Put a rubber strap on top of the dogs upper thigh area and tighten it a bit to bring out the vein. Also make sure you have someone holding that dog most important. Then take the syringe and insert the syringe almost parallel to the leg going in sideways until you penetrate that vein. Once in, then Draw back on the plunger to make sure you see blood going into the syringe easy flow in, and if it does then inject the NDV and while in process release the rubber strap to let the blood flow freely as you finish up your injection. After that wipe the puncture with some alcohol and your done. The Cure on your dog will be 24 hours.

I hope you caught this inside the 6 day window from onset of the disease symptoms. From day 7 onward the virus will penetrate the CNS. If it does then you need to do a NDV-CSF tap and only a VET can do this procedure. Understand.

MOST IMPORTANT DO THE BELOW ALSO

Then you need to get Bayril solution and Penicillin G solution and you need to take care of the Pneumonia which always comes with Distemper. Dx is for 7 straight days, twice a day intramuscular injection. 0.5cc of Baytril, and 1.0cc of Penicillin G mix combined as one shot. Works best that way.

Then your dog is saved BODY WISE and it will be immuned for life against Distemper and if you catch this inside the 6 day window you will not need to do the CSF tap injection because you caught the virus before it reached the Central Nervous System.

If after the 6 day window then the CSF tap needs to be done and then you will save your dog entirely. It will live a normal life.

Do NOT GIVE ANY VACCINATION SHOT OF DISTEMPER OR PARVO COMBINED OR ANY VACCINATIONS AT ALL FOR THE TIME BEING. Consult with me and I will instruct you on this after all the above is finished.

Write back quickly and keep me posted
