The very best test for rapidly diagnosing ACUTE Distemper is to do what is called a bush border smear of the cells of the inside lining of the bladder. These cells ALWAYS have inclusions of the Distemper being present. So, easy to collect, easy to stain (quick dip) and instantly diagnosed with inclusions in these cells. If present then Distemper. If not then something else. Other means cannot really confirm the Acute Distemper being present except this test. This test is extremely very accurate. 99.9%

Canine Distemper always has very high FEVER of 103 degs F to 106 deg F and the dog will exhibit other signs such as not eating, wants to hide from contact, will not drink etc, have soupy stools etc. Make sure you look to the left here<<<<<< on the column of Canine Distemper to see all the symptoms associated with this Disease.

Now do the following and do not waste any more time because TIME IS CRITICAL HERE FOR YOUR DOG.

First get Newcastles Disease Virus Vaccine (common is LaSorta Strain) from any Agriculture and Animal Control Store or Center. If you cannot find such, look in the telephone book under Agriculture Department and or the Government too, and give them a call and ask them where the nearest place that sells it related to your present location. It is not expensive at all. Buy yourself at least 2 vials (bottle) minimum for one small dog. For large dogs each vial holds up to 3.0cc NDV = to total weight of dog being 30 pounds or 66kg. Every 10 pounds or 22kg = 1.0cc of NDV. So, a 100 pound dog or 220kg will require minimum of 12 vials and 12 solution bottles that come with it. It is not expensive to get.

Then get a vet or a nurse who is familiar of syringes and knows how to use it. Weigh your dog in either pounds or Kilograms.

Then from that weight you go by this formula. 0.1cc NDV per pound or per 2.2kg of animal weight. If between then go the next higher number.

Find a blood vein AND before injecting make sure you draw out some blood into the same syringe containing the NDV vaccine to confirm you do have the blood vein, and inject either using a cather or using straight needle and put that serum into the dog.

Cure is between 12-48 hours. Most preferred is to get this serum (vaccine) inside the 4-6 day window for best results and avoiding major secondary problems associated with this Disease. In most cases the dog is usually in the secondary stage showing hardening of the pads, goop in the eyes, nasal discharging, soupy stools etc, before anyone recognizes the dog is sick.

If you are not inside this window you can still use this serum as long as the dog HAS NOT reached the neurological phase which is the chewing in the air gum type activity. If you are at this stage, SORRY TOO LATE- PUT THE DOG TO SLEEP BECAUSE SEVERE SEIZURES WILL FOLLOW VERY SHORTLY.

Now after you do this injection and if dog is outside of the 4-6 day window - get the blood test for the reading of WBC (white blood cell) count. Distemper will attack the bone marrow BUT not as severe as PARVO WILL DO. If reading is high a good sign that it has some protection against other diseases, but no guarantee that the Distemper Antibodies broke thru the blood brain barrier. If very low like 4.7 or 5.5 etc, your almost guaranteed that the dog will go into seizures (it can be anywhere from 10 days to 2 months) because it definitely broke thru the blood brain barrier.


Only way to know and to confirm if the Distemper Antibodies did not break or broke thru thru the blood brain barrier is doing a spinal tap (CSF tap) to get some spinal fluid (cerebral fluid) and test it for specific Distemper Antibodies only. Do this procedure after giving the dog the NDV about 9 days later. Most important.

If negative your in the clear and the dog will be OK. DO NOT VACCINATE THE DOG WITH DISTEMPER VACCINE AGAIN UNTIL THE TITERS COME DOWN, OR IF THE VET IS CERTAIN TO DO SO from that titer test. The dog will be immune against Distemper for about 5 years or more. Readings will be extremely very high and not uncommon to see it being 1/1600. Normal is 1/20 to 1/40.

In between all this make sure you do find a VET that can do the CSF tap because you will need to have this done if confirmed positive from the previous CSF test or if your dog starts going into seizures because the Distemper Antibodies breached that Blood Brain Barrier. MOST IMPORTANT.

CSF Cerebral Spinal Fluid Tap Procedure IF THE DISTEMPER ANTIBODIES BROKE THRU THE BLOOD BRAIN BARRIER. COMMON IN MOST CASES THAT HAVE DOGS SHOWING OBVIOUS SIGNS OF SECONDARY PROBLEMS.

If positive, then you have to inject the dog with the NDV again but this time into the Cerebral Spinal Cranial Cavity doing another spinal tap. If you not do this the dog will get the OLD DOG or otherwise known as SEIZURES later on guaranteed sooner than you think and that dog can and will die from the Cerebral Distemper Antibodies.

BEFORE INSERTING THIS NEEDLE MAKE SURE THE DOG ALREADY HAS THAT I.V. FLOWING INTO THE BODY and that your VET uses anesthetic and gave the dog some anti-shock medicine and has the dog in happy happy land sleeping soundly. The dog has to be absolutely very still when doing this procedure. What you withdraw IS when the needle is placed in the FORAMEN MAGNUM ( the large hole at the base of the skull), (Your vet should know where this is ) is 0.5 cc of cerebral fluid. This makes room for the further injections.

Dosage is 0.1cc of NDV mixed with 0.2 cc of saline solution and with spinal fluid together.

Again, TO BE SURE AND REPEATED Make sure the dog is getting IV fluids at this time AND already was given anti shock meds AND given anesthetics. All vets should know where the Cerebral Cranial cavity is located and the FORAMEN MAGNUM. Take out 0.5cc of fluid to have room to work with. The extra spinal fluid not needed should be saved and a test can be done for record keeping later. DO NOT SHORT CHANGE THE NDV AND SALINE SOLUTION. Must mix with the spinal fluid. Then put back in the very same amount DOSAGE WISE and the saline solution should flush the NDV into the cranial cavity to not leave any on the needle hub. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO AIR IN THAT SYRINGE BEFORE INJECTING THIS. Done.

IF NO ANTI-SHOCK MEDICINE GIVEN:

After the injection is back into the spinal canal, the dog will go into shock very shortly thereafter IF NOT GIVEN THE ANTI-SHOCK MEDICINE. Having the IV fluid already in and flowing, treat the dog for shock and stay with it until it comes out of shock.

If given Anti-shock meds no need to worry about the shock phase ABOVE ^. After the dog wakes up, wait until the dog stands up again on its own power. After that it is safe to take him or her home and the dog will recover nicely. The cure from Distemper Antibodies and the attacking of the T-killer cells in the cerebral fluid is 12 hours. Some of this will enter into the brain itself. No need to worry about this or about the differences of the doses. This WILL NOT cause a problem. It should stimulate the immune system of the brain to react positively within the 12 hr frame work. DO NOT INJECT ANY AIR into the spinal area. By 24 hours the NDV is all in the system including the brain. Why the dog is able to recover some or all its motor functions, and any other damage done by the distemper virus antibodies is unknown, but they do recover slowly. We do know that the Schwann cells and the myelin is able to repair itself some way and somehow, and its brain electrical connections and also the C4 cells change to C4 25 cell structure of which the distemper antibodies cannot operate in.

SHORT EXPLANATION REGARDING HAVING THE NDV IN THE CEREBRAL CRANIAL CAVITY:

The Distemper Antibodies that breached the Blood Brain Barrier, will trigger the Auto-immune system. What happens is, it searches and finds the intruder. When found this same auto-immune system releases another cell called the T-killer cell. This T-killer cell cannot tell the difference between good cells and bad cells. It is only programmed to destroy and eradicate. When it is released it takes out everything including the Myelin and Schwann cells and this is what causes all the OLD DOG (SEIZURES) IN ANIMALS. The T-killer cell is doing all this damage because it sees the Distemper Antibodies being present. NDV BASICALLY STOPS THIS MESS AND TELLS SOMEHOW TO THE T-KILLER CELLS TO STOP.

WE SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE 2 MILLION DOLLARS TO FIND OUT HOW AND EXACTLY WHAT THE NDV DID TO THE T-KILLER CELLS.

Be advised also that after this procedure is done it is expected that the dog will have a few more seizures. Reason is because the NDV is finding inflammation to the myelin and Schwann cells and stopping the mess caused by the Distemper Antibodies and that T-killer cell. Don't panic and give it time. It will stop the seizures completely once it completes its job.

I hope this explains it a bit better when doing the Cerebral Tap to stop the mess caused by the Distemper Antibodies that trigger this T-killer cells that breached the blood brain barrier that gives not only the seizures known as the OLD DOG, but this also will kill the DOG later on IF THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT DONE.

The recovery of the damage done by the Distemper Virus Antibodyies and from the damage done to the cerebral cranial area (the mylein and the Schwann cells) that are needed WHICH is the electrical connections that was previously destroyed by its own immune system depends on the dog itself and how much damage and time is needed for this to be repaired on its own. It can be within a few days or as long as a few months. However, as the recovery may be it will always be on the positive side. We have had 2 dogs with very advanced OLD DOG and they were having very bad seizures, could not walk or even see anything out of their eyes, and after this procedure was done in both cases the dogs recovered, and the seizures completely stopped and were able to walk again and see again after a span between 10 to 20 days. We cut the test short to find out these answers.

Remember do not give any more vaccinations to the dogs under normal schedules or too soon. WAIT AND GIVE IT TIME. If when you can do, only give 1/2 shots of the vaccine and space it out every 10-12 days and keep the Parvo vaccine completely separated from the Distemper Vaccine. Try not to give any more Distemper vaccine if possible but if you not able to avoid it, remember give only half shots. DO NOT GIVE FULL NORMAL SHOTS. The body needs to adjust slowly to additional vaccines. Space the shots out and keep track until the dog is done as if it had all its normal shots as required. Then make sure you do this yearly for life. DO NOT COMPROMISE ON VACCINATIONS.


If all is OK after all this is done, and the WBC count is low, you can get Nupogen which is an inducer to bring up the WBC count. You might have to do this several times. The bone marrow is what produces the WBC. Distemper may damage it to some extent, but PARVO DESTROYS THE BONE MARROW. Approximately a dose of 2-3cc should get it started and wait about 3-4 weeks. Then do a blood test to get the new reading. Most preferred for a dog a reading of 17.0 is best. Once you get it close to this reading, then have the dog checked every 3-4 months to make sure the level stays up. Most important. The dog needs it to fight other common diseases. If the level stays up then you know the bone marrow probably may be OK. Do check it again a few more times to be sure every 3-4 months especially the first year. After that then do the test every 6 months to be on the safe side.


NDV -> WILL NOT breach the blood brain barrier. It has to be done manually.


NDV will also cure dogs of Fading Puppy Syndrome.
NDV will also cure dogs of Stomach Cancer and also Stomach cancer in humans as well
NDV cures chickens of this disease.
NDV can cure and save people afflicted with MEASLES.
NDV can also cure MS in people - yet not tried or done, even though a Doctor has been trying to tell the experts this for over 30 years and keeps getting slammed down by these same experts!!!!!

These same experts keep slammin down the very same Doctor who found this cure on Distemper, and they refuse to believe that this Disease can be cured.

Canine Distemper = Measles = MS = the very same virus strain. Go figure.

Well, This Doctor has saved well over 600 Dogs and the number keeps climbing and many live long life with their owners and the owners happy that they saved their dog.

While many Vets who believe in Vitamins or herbal products or have this defeatist attitude that they cannot save the dog simply stand back and watch the animals DIE IN FRONT OF THEIR FACE, AND THE AGONY OF THE OWNERS GRIEVING AT THE LOSS OF THEIR BELOVED PET.

Not to mention over 30,000 people die yearly in Africa of MEASLES of which this same serum can save them as well.

I hope this notice will help anyone who is desperate that wants to save their dog. So I post this again and such is revised from my last post so anyone can get these instructions and to use it quickly. You may print this and make copies.

HELP! I found the Newcastle vaccine, but it is B-1 strain. I can find no Vet that does the "bush border" test in San Antonio, TX. Can I give it to my Pomerian--about 8 pounds--without the test?? It is the day after Thanksgiving and most places are closed, including A&M.
She has runny nose. She is drinking, but not eating. She threw up a small watery substance last night. Not as playful as is normal. She is 9 years old.

Dave, took my Pomeranian to the vet. No distemper. Cold or allergy. She is doing much better and has returned to her normal activities.
