canine distemperOur last puppy died from canine distemper we bleached the carpet, his toys,&crate. How long will it last in our house? We plan on getting a new puppy how many shots should he get before we bring him home?
Re: canine distemper3 months average. The virus is an airborne type. It is in your clothes and everthing. You did well by bleaching. Very good. If you get new puppy, make sure it has the timely shots preferred 3 combo vaccines, all dewormed, and include Pneumodog 2 shots, make sure it is covered for corona and lyme. The vaccines takes 14 days before it beomes good in the body. After the 3 shot series then do your rabies only 1 needed and then yearly as well as the other vaccinations.

Make sure pup is also dewormed minimum 3 times each deworm every 3 weeks beginning the 4th week from birth and then once a month for 2 months and then every 3 months thereafter. Vaccinations every 3 weeks. Once done their main base vaccinations are finished then do every year all of the mentioned above. Your pup will be fine.
