Last Friday night, our family was stunned to see our 3 month old terrier named twinky having a seizure. Prior to that she became very moody and always bark whenever we try to hold her.
We brought her saturday morning to her Vet and the doctor performs blood test to check if she’s having a distemper. After 2 hours the result is positive. The doctor only gave our puppy Vitamin B+ to calm her nerves.
But my mother and I we’re not satisfied to the medicine that the vet gave to our puppy...Read the full article

My 3 month old puppy had distemper
Re: My 3 month old puppy had distemperJust read your post now. I am sorry to read of your plight. Your dog is going to die very soon probably within the next 5 days or so. You might be able to save it still.
I am your only hope AND also Dr. Sears. That VET giving you vitamins is a quack. Throw it out. You need to get NDV RIGHT NOW. First weigh the dog either in pounds or in KG. Then from the total weight you need to add 0.1cc for every pound or kg . Then from that total you add another 0.1cc for the body injection into the blood vein on the dogs front leg. Cure is 48 hours in the body. Next you need to get your VET to also inject 0.2cc doing the CSF-NDV tap right then and there without delay, and also have 0.2cc of saline solution to flush the NDV from the needle hub and make sure there is no air in the syringe or needle. The tap MUST BE DONE ON THE FORAMEN MAGNUM (the bottom base of the skull where the Spinal cord stem is located. Have the vet withdraw 0.6 cc of the spinal fluid, discard or save 0.4cc for later testing, leave the rest of the fluid 0.2cc in the syringe and add 0.2cc of NDV into this syringe and mix it. On the other syringe make sure the VET has 0.2cc of the saline solution to flush the needle hub into the CSF to not leave any NDV behind, and then take it out. Before this procedure is done the dog must be in happy land sleeping, and given anti-shock meds to prevent the shock from occuring. Then the tap can be done. Once this is finished, then wait until the animal wakes up and once it stands up, you can take it home. It takes 36 hours for the NDV to stop the progression of the Virus in the CNS system. If you get LUCKY, YOUR DOG MIGHT LIVE but it will need to be given phenobarbital of 8.125 mg at least once a day minimum to slow down the seizures to give the dog a chance to get well. The rest is up to the dog and its genetics to survive. How long will it take for the seizures to stop, is anybody's guess and it is the immune system of the dog to respond. It can take months or maybe a couple of years. It is unknown at this point of time. Keep posting
