Honkey Magoo’s StoryWe got Honkey Magoo at a local animal shelter when he was just 3 months old and the news was advertising these puppies to quickly find owners. He was the cutest little puppy, half pug, half dachshund. He started having a runny nose and cough and we took him to the vet and began treatment for an upper respiratory infection. After about a week, the upper respiratory infection turned into pneumonia, but Honkey Magoo stayed really strong and never stopped eating or drinking even though he was very s...Read the full article
Re: Honkey Magoo’s StoryGreetings honkey
I am Daveyo. Your dog still has the disease ongoing like it or not and it is in the CNS right now. Consider yourself lucky that the dog survived the initial Distemper which was the mild form virus. Since your dog is having the twitching this is called Chlorea. Having this by itself as stand alone and not related to any other disease the dog can live and if given time it might heal. But having this and Distemper together it is a deadly combo and a guaranteed death sentence. Eventually your dog will go into full ODE and at that time it will be too late. So now you have the chance to still save its life. However that virus is going to kill your dog if you not treat it. You need to get it treated in the CNS as soon as possible because I hate to see you make a post later saying your dog did die. They all do if left untreated. When anywhere from 2 weeks to 8-9 years and it comes suddenly without warning. When that full ODE hits the animal is dead within 7-9 days. If the animal is treated with the NDV, it will cancel out the death sentence and stop the demylenation of the nerves and the Schwann cells. At the same token it also assists the genetics to stimulate the stem cells to repair itself of all the damage the distemper virus caused to the CNS. Once treated with NDV, the dog is immuned for life against Distemper and happy days are certain as you have described. You can find my site doing the search engine and search for canine Distemper and also at proboards. Combine these together you should find me. If not go to proboards and they will link you up to my site. Once there sign in and then you can make contact to me, and also see everything you need to know about the disease. I also have the medical protocol there, and the NDV locator as well. Hope to hear more from you as I am very concerned about your pet. Daveyo
