My german shepard, which is not yet a year old has distemper At first the vets thought it was, then they thought it was an upper respitory [respiratory] infection, now with reading suymtoms [symptoms], it looks like it’s distemper. She has been on medication for a month now. The first week her temp was 107. The highest it has been is 104 now. I hope this message is not too late. We just put our new (had her for 5 weeks) 6 month old labradoodle to sleep 2 days ago after a battle with distemper. We trusted the CT. rescue that she had all of her shots, treated for fleas, and was dropped off at a shelter in the south by a family. After some research, I learned we were fooled! Her symptoms started 5 days after we adopted/rescued her and she was treated for kennel cough. Our story is devastating and very sad as we also have an 8 year old son, and this was his first dog; and the first time his heart has been broken.

We tried the homeopathic route and she did improve (during the respiratory phase of distemper) for a short time. But the virus progressed to the CNS and included leg twitching and seizures (chewing gum fit) and she suffered from a lot of pain (lots of crying). At that point, we were only keeping her alive for our family's sake and it wasn't fair to our sweet little pup. If there is still time for your pup, the remedies to try are Belladonna and sulphor (sp?). I wish you all the best in the world. Distemper is a terrible canine virus.

Yes there is a cure for Distemper, and you can always go to my site as it is a authenticated site, at caninedistempercure dot com and or look up on google as well.
