dog aggression help needed

Post a new topicby deborahhancock99 on Mon Dec 03, 2007 5:52 pm

Hi
i have a 3 year old chocolate lab who is very aggressive towards other dogs. i have spent alot of money on training, but nothing has worked. have tried shock collars, choker collars, everything.

he is really bad. grows and tries to bite the other dog. i have lost all control over him. in the house i have total control. no barking, no jumping, no sleeping on bed/couch. sitting, staying. walks and runs great on leash. just if sees another dog its awful.

i am currently using bark busters as my last attempt

was wondering if anyone knew of any medication that might help?

he has got loose from me 6 times and not drawn blood on other dogs, but its been a huge tuzzle/fight.

Hi Deborah

How much excerise does he get?

How long have you had him?

Is he aggressive to certain dogs, male/ female, large/small?

What is he like with humans?

If you could give more information it would be good.

Thankyou Louisa

Hi

I have had him 2 years, he is 3 years old - rescued him from pound.

Great with humans and kids.

Aggressive towards any size dog. Usually gets a 5 mile run in every day in evening and 15 min fetch session in morning, but since have moved in Colorado ( 2 weeks) have been unable to take him running, due to fact i have no confidence with him anymore.

Hope you can help
thanks

Then put the muzzle on the dog when you are taking him outside. Period. Also make sure you have a metal chain, and not a stringer to hold this dog back. OK. That muzzle will force him to surrender and heel.
