Agressive behavior toward other dog suddenly

Post a new topicby shanninen on Tue Jul 08, 2008 5:53 pm

I have two dogs. An older standard poodle (11.5yrs) and a 1 year old rescue springer spaniel, lab cross. Last night, the younger dog got sick from too many left over taste treats from our dinner (will never do that again) and in the middle of the night started vomiting and attacked my older poodle. This morning all was right again, no hurt feelings, and no aggression. I'm thinking that she did not feel well, felt vulnerable for some reason around the older dog and took it out on him. I separated the two, put her in her crate for the evening and the older one was free to roam the house. Did I do the right thing and am I going to have to watch for this as she gets older? Are my thoughts on the right track for why she may have done what she did?
