Why is Bambi chewing wood?My dog Bambi who is a boxer - russian samoyed cross, size wise is on the larger side and is a little over a year old has taken to chewing on wood lately, be it the cupboards or the beds. Additional unusual behavior that she is displaying is, scraping her butt across the floor, whining and crying - she has become very vocal, weight loss, loss of appetite and yesterday I noticed a slimy whitish discharge from her vagina. She also suffers from constipation on a regular basis. Her energy level however is unchanged - she is a loving and friendly but over active dogs who loves to run around and rough house. I thought of worms but I not sure of the correct dosage for her size. Please tell me what could be the reason for this wood eating and other symptoms. Vets' answers would be preferred but I'd appreciate learning from everyone's experiences
Re: Why is Bambi chewing wood?Hi
Granted it has been awhile for anyone to answer your questions, but chewing on wood will give constipation to the dog. I suggest buying some bones for the dog, or the chewable types found at pet shops. Normal for the dog to chew on something due to being so young. Same like children. Need to teach your dog the word no!!! Anyway, do see a VET for any intestinal upsets and also check the vagina out for any ongoing infection Daveyo
