Last week a neighbor was evicted and just let his dog loose. I did not the neighbor and how well he took care of his dog but I'm assuming that it was not good if he was callus enough to just let this dog loose. The dog is about 30 pounds mixed breed, probably less then a year old, lots of energy and a good apatite.
Here is the problem I don't know if the dog had shots. I took him in and now after a week my other dog a 80 pound mixed breed has a runny eye and is not eating. I am really nervous that I may have my introduced my dog to a sick dog. I am scarred that it could be distemper I don't know what to do.
Please give me some advice on what I could do for the dog i had originally. I should have brought the other dog to the pound but I felt sorry for him. This is a big mistake I made and I am sick about this.
Please advise me as what to do. my original dog may or may not have had shots. I had him neutured 5 years ago at a clinic and I don't know if they give shots to the dogs that are brought in for neutering.

I may have made a big mistake HELP!!
Re: I may have made a big mistake HELP!!If your dog was neutered 5 years ago, then he is not up to date on his shots. He needs to see a vet every year for either titer tests or annual vaccinations. I would suggest that now would be a good time to bring him there since he is now not eating and has a runny eye. It is best to have him checked out before it turns into something more serious.
I would also bring the new dog in as well and have a full check-up and blood work done on him as well to be sure that he is healthy.
