Hello,
I have a 7 year old spayed miniature American Eskimo dog that has always had doggie breath. I noticed her two front teeth were protruding and took her to the vet. He said she had a localized mouth infection and three incisors plus possibly the front teeth need to come out. I am going in Monday AM. My question - has anyone heard of this before and any suggestions? Also Snow is very sensitive to medication and has never been anesthetized. She is 24 pounds and I am worried. Any suggestions on what to do before or after surgery are appreciated. Thanks

Re: Female Eskie with Localized Mouth InfectionWell, she had to have been anesthetized at some point to have been spayed.
Your vet will most likely do some preop blood work due to her age. Most dogs over the age of 5 need this bloodwork done. I hope everything goes well. Your vet will give you post operative instructions, but I'm sure they will include soft food for a while.
