Feline Leukemia -- My Kitten's brother died..what do I do?

Post a new topicby KittenMomma on Fri Apr 04, 2008 6:11 pm

My 2 kittens are 11 months old -- we got them from the convenience store across the street, and they are AMAAAZING kids. When they were about 6 months old, the vet diagnosed them with feline leukemia and assured us that the best we could do was just keep them well-fed, happy, and unstressed. We did that and they seem fine, but yesterday, i found out that one of their litter-mates, their brother, just died after a horrible bout with tumors that spread to his entire body (he had feline leukemia too). Now I'm very very nervous about my own kids and I'm not sure what to do -- should I take my kittens to the vet again, just to get them checked out? Their brother was raised in a different household with totally different circumstances, so maybe my kids have nothing to worry about, right?

I'm losing my mind about this because my boyfriend and I got the kittens together and then he died, so these cats are the only thing I have left of him...

Thanks
