Animal growth - night or day

Post a new topicby Frenchlady on Mon Oct 08, 2007 10:36 am

Can someone tell me if animals grow and develop mentally and physically at night when they are sleeping or during the day when they are up running around. We have some new puppies and my husband insist on having a bright overhead light on them night and day. I think to develop properly they should have the light off at night and just a night light on. Also I would think that it would make the mama dog restless to have the light on at night.

When I was in nursing school I was taught to have the light off in the nursey at night in order for the babies to develop both physically and mentally. When I put my own children to bed at night, I turn their overhead light off and leave a night light on for them to see if they get up during the night. When I have to sleep with a bright light on all night I am very restless.

Can someone explain this to me and tell me if I am right or wrong about this?

Is your husband a torturer or what? Did he come from the CIA??? Listen night time is to sleep. Daytime is to be awake. Depends on people sometimes they work night shift so they sleep during the day. All dogs and people grow day and night. Everyone needs their sleep LIGHTS OFF. Period. This includes dogs too.

I agree. The dogs need a dark place to sleep and relax at night. WOuld you be able to sleep with a bright light on you? I know I wouldn't.
