Hi I am Daveyo

Nice post but wrong answers/info.

Distemper hits all breeds of animals even fish out in the ocean.

Secondly if the animal is already sick with Distemper or any other serious illness NEVER VACCINATE A SICK ANIMAL. Its system is already compromised by a disease.

Third, there is only one test to find out if the dog or ferret has distemper. A brush border smear test of the inside of the bladder lining. Easy to collect and to check for acute distemper. Why the virus is there and not antibodies to such virus. Fast and you can have your answer in 20 minutes.

The only known cure for confirmed acute Distemper is NDV >>>>> Newcastles Disease Virus Vaccine of the LaSorta strain. Make sure you purchase some before buying an animal. It is the only known lifesaver to the animal at current time. The cure is in 24 hours.

Fourth Never vaccinate an animal with Distemper and Parvo combined together. Use only killed version and keep the shots apart. If you give the distemper shot then wait 21 days before giving the Parvo shot.

Fifth and last you vaccinate animals including Rabies only once every 3 years and not every year and only when HEALTHY. Keep this in mind always, and never when a female is in heat or is pregnant or weaning pups until the female is completely done giving milk to the pups. If you follow this all should be just fine for you.
