Cancer/Lymphnoma or what? What can I do? Whats next?

Post a new topicby Buddy Higgins on Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:38 am

Two and a half years ago I told my vet that my cats bad breath isn't going away even after yearly cleaning and a few needed extractions last and this year. Especially since march he has lost all interest in playing and hunting. His eating has gotten worse. He sleeps 20-22 hours a day when he use to be up 16-18 hours a day. I suffer from chronic insomnia from a injury 22 years ago. He would stay up with me. He will be 9 on Sept. 18. My vet wants to do exploratory surgery but tells me he could die on the table or later from complications or infection. Or she can give him predesone shots and hope. He is getting worse and his breath smells like poop and sulpur and has for 2 1/2 years only really really bad now. I have lost my family and also my best friend some years back. My CAT is my rock my best friend and shares my soul with me. I never get out so I have no one but him. My vet believes that if he dies I may follow him,,, I am also a disabled veteran in a state other than my own and homebound. I recently became new to having lupis, diabedes, and sjorgrens. all immune problems. I am not worried about myself. I just can't lose him,,, I pray for him several times a day. Can anyone advise me? Sweetie my CAT is my heaven on earth! Thank You All Sincerely Buddy Higgins

Hi buddy

Get a culture done on the mouth and send it to Antech Lab to find out what is causing the bad smell and breath. Other than that this is the best I can advise you.

Good luck
